ANS President Wins 2012 Small Business Person Award

Small Business Person of the YearMay 22, 2012 – Kevin Leibl, president and founder of Advanced Network Systems Inc., was presented with the 2012 Small Business Person Award by the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce.  This year’s ceremony took place at the Chamber’s annual Spring Luncheon, with over 250 business and community leaders in attendance.  Each year the Chamber chooses to recognize one small business owner who has successfully run and grown an entrepreneurial organization, as well as made significant contributions to the Greater Charlottesville community.

Leibl shared the credit for Advanced Network Systems’ success with his business partners, Tony Petrella and Lorri Haney, the company’s 23 dedicated employees, and its focus on delivering real value to its customers.  “In the current market – particularly in the IT arena – everybody thinks they’ve achieved success when they’ve purchased something for the lowest price they can pay, instead of asking “what is the best solution over the long-term to solve my problem?”  He added, “The truth is that any piece of hardware or software, even if it is the latest and greatest technology, is rarely the solution to a problem. Making that technology successfully fulfill a need and meeting the customer’s expectations is the value we strive to deliver.” Leibl also encouraged attendees to patronize small, local businesses, “The small businesses in our community have invested in training, equipment and the expertise to provide you with what you need, when you need it. I hope everyone will stop and take the time, when you are looking to purchase your next product or service, and give small businesses a real chance to win your business.”

Timothy Hulbert, President of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce added, “Small businesses are where vibrancy occurs on an ongoing basis. A small business becomes a medium-size business and ultimately becomes a larger business because of the success of local entrepreneurs.”
